Entrepreneurship – A Life Choice
Inspire to Grow, To Dream, To be Brave, and To Chase Passion
Entrepreneurship is an important driver of economic growth. Progressive thinking in society lead to entrepreneurship as a vehicle for Women Empowerment. With my experience as a Women Entrepreneur, I can confidently write that Women are one of the largest untapped reservoir of the world for economic growth. Fuelling the entrepreneurial spirit and providing necessary support to women entrepreneurs can bring revolutionary change. Leaving my high paying job with HSBC and be the Co Founder of Disha for Success was one of the best decision of my life. Starting a business is like planting a sapling. You invest your time and money expecting nothing in return. But when business blossoms, it makes all the patience and hard work worthwhile. Disha For Success is a manifestation of Powerful thought to Create positive impact on Planet Earth. Our Tagline “Your Partner for Growth” speaks about our vision and mission. During the process of building my business, I have learned The most important lessons:
- Take inspiration from people who are doing great
It takes courage to be a business owner, and the courage resides within you. Surround yourself with people who are better than you in Skill set and Mindset. Do not be afraid to reach out to resources such as mentors and coaches who can empower, uplift and inspire your entrepreneurial aspirations. For me Ms. Sudha Murthy is a great inspiration. Her Simplicity and passion for work always inspires me.
2.Be your own master, neglect all the negativity that surrounds you, and never stop learning and growing. Regardless of whatever roadblocks others may put in place, do not be afraid to burst through the glass ceilings placed by society. Take entrepreneurship as an adventurous sports.
3.Invest time to know your strengths and weakness Self Knowledge is a fundamental key to building Successful Business. Never underestimate your ability to succeed. - Be willing to learn along the way and do not wait until you’re ready. It is OK to make mistakes, stumble and fall. When I made a decision to setup business, I didn’t know much, I learned along the way, took classes at night, got certifications, read business books and asked lot of questions. I took a pledge to be a life long student. Recently I had a great learning experience while pursuing my Executive Development Program at IIM Bangalore. There are lot of women entrepreneurs who are willing to step up their skills, irrespective of their age and background.
- Be ready to collaborate, connect and network. As it is invaluable for growth.
- Nurture entrepreneurial values among kids at a relatively young age. Such education teach kids to follow their passion, being bold and realize the importance of being independent and self-reliant.
- Never put limitations on your growth potential, always envision your goals, execute your plan and exceed your expectations. It will all be worth. The best business plans may fail, but failure is paramount to being successful. Failure is only a learning experience preparing you for a more significant comeback. Most successful entrepreneurs have, at one point, or another faced different forms of adversity. These moments teach us to keep pushing towards your goals.
I would like to conclude that, Make Business a mission, more than just a product or service. Build a team you can trust to make dream work.
